Starter arrived with plenty of instructions and a video link. Have made 2 excellent loaves so far and look forward to making many more.
Starter was fine. Your instructions i found difficult to understand as a beginner. The time schedules were confusing. Proofing times particularly seemed far too long.

i ordered the paid of round and oval silicone bread slings. it is actually the oval one that i use, as i prefer a long, rather than a round, loaf. however, that doesn't mean i will never use the round one.
so much easier to get my dough into the cloche - bearing in mind that it is extremely hot. this helps me manoeuvre the dough into the space without risking my fingers. also makes it easy to remove. good quality sling, i have seen others, but they don't look as well made. very pleased with purchase.

I have tried making my own starter - it seemed ok, I have bought starter before, nothing compares to this one. It makes fantastic dough, and my efforts have gone from d- to a+
starter and oval cloche.
having had difficulties with both starter and baking - I have the world's worst oven (I rent, so can't change), I was about to give up, but thought I would give these a go. The starter is the best I have ever tried, and have been making mine for over a year, and also bought ready starter - nothing compares to this one. I have made sourdough pizza with it - amazing crust, even in a substandard oven. Today I made my first loaf, using the cloche - lovely crust, soft crumb, wonderful flavour. Before, it was difficult to work out what I was doing right, wrong, or so-so. Now I can evaluate my loaf properly, and although it could do with a few minor tweaks, it is by far the best sourdough loaf I have made - I could sell it, it's that good, in fact, it's better than any sourdough loaf I have ever bought (even from so-called artisan, award-winning bakers). Really happy with my purchases, and also The Sourdough Labs have been super helpful during the ordering process. Couldn't be bettered.

Excellent Dark Rye Sourdough Starter
Really impressed with this dark rye sourdough starter. It gave a wonderfully rich, deep flavour. The starter is active and reliable.
The resulting loaf had a deliciously distinctive rye flavour and a lovely texture.
A really good-quality starter that I would happily recommend to anyone wanting to make authentic, flavourful rye sourdough at home
