Discover one of the world’s oldest cultivated grains with this Organic Wholemeal Einkorn Flour, a truly ancient wheat variety with origins dating back over 8,000 years. The earliest clear evidence of einkorn cultivation comes from Southern Turkey around 8,650 BC, and remarkably, grains have also been discovered at an underwater archaeological site off the Isle of Wight—showing it was grown in Britain as far back as 6000 BC, when the country was still connected to mainland Europe.

Genetically distinct from modern wheat, einkorn takes its name from the German “ein” meaning one—referring to its unique single grain structure. This ancient grain has been carefully preserved over thousands of years in remote agricultural communities across central and southern Europe, valued for its exceptional qualities.

Carefully milled from whole einkorn grain, this flour delivers a rich, slightly sweet and nutty flavour with a soft, distinctive texture. Ideal for those looking to explore heritage baking, it produces loaves full of character, depth, and history.

Perfect for adventurous bakers and those seeking something truly unique, this flour brings together tradition, flavour, and one of the earliest chapters of agriculture in every bake.
